## Everything But Ordinary Mongolia participated in ITB Berlin 2015 as an official partner for the first time, showcasing the nation's tourism potential on a global stage. The government recognized the importance of elevating Mongolia's international profile and strengthening economic competitiveness. The country's exhibition featured three pavilions designed as traditional Mongolian gers, highlighting cultural heritage through performances and folk traditions. A reception featuring authentic Mongolian cuisine complemented the presentation, offering a comprehensive cultural experience. The ITB Berlin exhibition attracted over 10,000 businesses from 180 countries and 170,000 tourists in the previous year, positioning it as a significant marketing opportunity for Mongolian tourism companies. Winter tourism received particular emphasis, with international hotel chains reducing rates by half from November through May to attract seasonal visitors experiencing Ice Festival, Camel Polo, Eagle Festival, and Lunar New Year celebrations. Ulaanbaatar's mayor approved the "Amiable Ulaanbaatar" program, allocating 5% of the city budget annually to enhance service sector hospitality and improve the capital's international image. The initiative aimed to increase tourism by 30% over three years. Dr. Christian Goke, Executive Director of Messe Berlin GmbH, characterized Mongolia as "everything except ordinary," emphasizing "traditions stemming from Chinggis Khaan, nomadic culture of incredible fame and endless vast steppes."
